Maluma has buried the hatchet with Anuel AA in an unexpected way. The two music stars joined forces for “Diablo, Qué Chimba,” which was released with a music video last night (March 23).
Maluma’s beef with Anuel AA stems from 2019. That year, Anuel AA appeared on Bryant Myers’ “Gan-Ga” remix. In his guest verse, Anuel AA sang, “Nunca flow Maluma, siempre Real G.” The lyric went viral, and Bad Bunny even tweeted it. In an interview with Molusco, Maluma said he didn’t understand what Anuel AA meant by that lyric. He added that if Anuel AA and Bad Bunny have a problem with his flow, they should tell him their problem.
Four years later, it seems that the two have put the friction to rest. In the alluring club banger, Maluma blends reggaeton with elements of house music. He proudly uses Colombian slang like “qué chimba,” meaning they’re there for a good time. Anuel AA brings a street edge to their collaboration that rounds out Maluma’s signature flirty flow—while hit-makers DJ Luian and the Mambo Kingz produced the sexy track.
The two artists hint at his old beef in the “Diablo, Qué Chimba” music video. After Maluma invites DJ Luian to a house party, the producer brings Anuel AA as his plus-one. Maluma says that if Anuel comes over, it’s because “siempre flow Maluma.” Anuel AA is later spotted doodling on a portrait of Maluma. When the party ends, he leaves his “Real Hasta La Muerte” catchphrase on Maluma’s wall.
“Diablo, Qué Chimba” will be a part of Maluma’s upcoming album Don Juan. So far, the Colombian singer has previewed the LP with the singles “La Fórmula” featuring Marc Anthony and “La Reina.”
