maye Announces Debut U.S. ‘Música Para Abrir El Cielo Tour’

maye is going on tour this summer! On Apr. 8, the Venezuelan singer announced her first-ever U.S. tour, exclusively via Remezcla. Her Música Para Abrir El Cielo Tour will kick off at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY, on July 11, and wrap up at The Independent in San Francisco, CA, on Aug. 5.
“It feels unreal to be going on my first headline tour, but it has been a long time coming!” maye tells Remezcla about her upcoming tour. “I’ve never felt so excited as I do now, and I’m just hoping I can live up to people’s expectations.”
She shares that fans can expect her to sing her old songs, as well as her newer ones that she’s known for. With this in mind, we can expect her to sing popular tracks like “Tú,” “Yours,” “My Love,” and her newest single, “Yo Me Consiento,” which have garnered her over one million monthly listeners on Spotify. “[Fans] can also expect some special guests on tour that are very dear to me,” maye reveals.
After kicking off her tour in New York, the Música Para Abrir El Cielo Tour will continue at the Lounge at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA (July 12); the Union Stage in Washington, DC (July 13); the Terminal West in Atlanta, GA (July 15); the Crowbar in Tampa, FL (July 18); and The Ground at Club Space in Miami, FL (July 19). She will then perform at The Social in Orlando, FL (July 20); the White Oak Music Hall (Upstairs) in Houston, TX (July 22); the Cine El Rey in McAllen, TX (July 24); Tulips FTW in Dallas, TX (July 25); and the Paper Tiger in San Antonio, TX (July 26).
The second half of the tour continues with performances at Antone’s in Austin, TX (July 27); the Lowbrow Palace in El Paso, TX (July 29); and at the Valley Bar in Phoenix, AZ (July 31). Her last string of shows will be at the Voodoo Room in San Diego, CA (Aug. 1); El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA (Aug. 2); and The Independent in San Francisco, CA (Aug. 5).
