Sounds like: they’re heavily influenced by Slowdive, Sonic Youth and Ride
You should listen to Asalto al Parque Zoológico because… they are shoegaze and psychedelic music connoisseurs; perfect for the rock ‘n’ roll musicologist or any avid hipster music geek.

Argentine shoegaze/psych/dream pop band Asalto al Parque Zoológico extends deeply into the realms of musical experimentation. They meld aesthetics of pioneering bands like Slowdive and Sonic Youth in a clear, precise and seamless manner. Asalto al Parque Zoológico’s blatant attention to detail when it comes to reinterpreting music from the past 25 years is anything but insulting, and could be considered unprecedented.

Most of the shoegaze pioneers were influenced by post punk bands like The Smiths and Joy Division, and psychedelic bands like Led Zepplin, as they were the sounds that preceded them. Well, Asalto al Parque Zoológico is a new generation that pulls from the deep trenches of European and American shoegaze bands like My Bloody Valentine and Ride.

It is interesting to hear the collage of sounds and instrumental techniques in their music because they take bits and pieces of ideas and music modes from genre specific ideas. This band has vision and a good understanding of the sound they work to create. Therefore, they are able to execute their music well and hit their musical target very well. As of latest, they’ve been featured in Brazil’s blog about underground music Ride Into The Sound in “Mixtapes & Noisemates # 2” as the mixtape of this month (it’s FREE too)!

If you like early Brian Jonestown Massacre and Ride, you’ll love Asalto al Parque Zoológico. Check out their music below and download:
