Née: Iñaki Zubieta
Raíces: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Sounds like: Make out music that should be played when you’re peaking on peyote on a town square in any village in Argentina.
You should listen to Guazuncho because… trust me, just listen.
Iñaki Zubieta of Buenos Aires, Argentina is the one-man act of the sensual and experimental folk project, Guazuncho. Zubieta exudes musical expertise in a manner that makes you sit and evaluate why anyone would spend any time listening to mainstream pop music. He melds folk, rock, experimental and classical music aesthetics to create sounds of his own.
Guazuncho recently released a full-length album, Cauce which is a touching and romantic collection of songs that reminds that music doesn’t have to be jarring, loud, or overly produced to be moving and effective. Guazuncho’s sound shares echoes with other artists like Panda Bear, Elton John, The Flaming Lips and Sigur Rós.
If you love sexy and penetrating experimental rock, you’ll absolutely love Guazuncho.
