Sounds Like…the indie band the 90s forgot
You should listen to Las Ligas Menores because…you secretly wish fall would skip over winter and jump right into spring

In 2011, magazine Página/12 asked 125 artists to name a few of their favorite artists, albums, etc. One of those artists was musician Santiago Motorizado (a.k.a. Santiago Barrionuevo) of El Mató A Un Policía Motorizado. His vote for Banda Revelación (Best New Band) went to Buenos Aires quintet Las Ligas Menores, who soon became his labelmates.

The band is part of a wave of indie rock bands popping up in Argentina that sound like someone discovered a time capsule stuffed with the best indie/alt-rock bands of the ’80s and ’90s. Normally, we’d be wary of any “revival” of sorts but, guys…you guys!!! This is really good!

Check out the first single, “Renault Fuego,” for their upcoming self-titled debut LP. It’s hella cheerful, like a bunch of tweens with balloons running through a park in an old TV commercial.
