Mutek, one of the most important festivals in the electronic music world, has announced another batch of artists and activities for their 2016 edition in Montreal, in addition to headliners Tim Hecker and Atom ™. Of special note are the crew of Mexican producers, who recently performed at the Mexican iteration of the festival.
For more than 10 years, Mutek has had a yearly edition in Mexico, showcasing international talent for music lovers. Turning the tables here, three acts hailing from Mexico will be invading the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal to give locals a taste of their talent. These include fusion wunderkid Siete Catorce, techno philosopher White Visitation, and cinematic moodists And The End of Everything. Prague-based Mexican producer, musician, and multimedia artist Laura Luna also joins the lineup.
The Mexico-packed lineup is a significant step for the country’s electronic scene, and a delight for concertgoers in Canada, who will no doubt be hooked to the sounds of these great artists. Mutek Montreal will take place from June 1 to 5.
