On the other side of the Remezcla world, we told you about Jorge R. Gutiérrez’s upcoming animated effort, the Guillermo del Toro-produced Book of Life, starring everyone’s boyfriend Diego Luna, outer space femme Zoe Saldana, and Magic Mike himself (Channing Tatum). What we didn’t tell you over there is that Book of Life’s soundtrack will have some familiar sounds.

According to Billboard, Radiohead’s “Creep,” Biz Markie’s “Just a friend,” and Mumford & Sons’ “I will wait” will all get “mariachi and norteño makeovers” for the flick, along with Elvis, Rod Stewart, and Ed Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

But fear not, your favorite Mexican artists have not been (completely) forsaken. Café Tacvba and Kinky will also be norteño covered, while Gustavo Santaolalla and Paul Williams pen the only two original tracks on the soundtrack. This sounds…pretty adorable. But so many questions! Will they change it to “You’re so pinche special”? Will mariachi music actually contain the awfulness that is “I will wait”? Is there even another Biz Markie song out there to cover? Give us answers, world!
