Apparently, in order for a music festival to actually feature Latin American artists it would have to actually be in Latin America (take note Outside Lands, Chicago Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Pitchfork, and whatever other run-of-the-mill, Gen-Y-appealing, molly-infested fuck fest there is).
Primavera Fauna, which launched in 2011, calls Santiago its home and boasts a healthy lineup of familiar faces (familiar around these parts, at least). Aside from the big (Anglo) festival draws—M.I.A., Cut Copy, and, um, The Cardigans (???)—expect to hear pool-side sets from Javiera Mena, CSS, festival whores Bomba Estéreo, Los Bunkers, Diegors, Daniel Maloso, Román & Castro, among others, plus joint sets from Alex Anwandter and Gepe (Alex & Daniel) and Matías Aguayo and Mostro. The three-stage outdoor event is set for November 23rd and why do I live in California?
