After Peso Pluma’s performance at the 2024 Festival de Viña del Mar in Chile was challenged by politicians, the organization reassured that he was still set to perform. However, yesterday (Feb. 22), the festival announced that the Mexican singer stepped down for personal reasons and that his replacement is none other than the popular Argentinean rapper – and Nicki Nicole’s ex-boyfriend – Trueno.

The festival’s press release confirmed that the “LADY GAGA” singer’s team officially canceled his upcoming Latin American tour dates, which included the Chilean festival: “We regret to inform you that due to personal reasons, Peso Pluma will not be performing at the concerts / festivals scheduled in Viña Del Mar, Lima [Peru], and Asunción [Paraguay]. We hope to be able to return to these territories soon to give you the experience you deserve.”

With the official statement of Peso’s absence, they also announced that Trueno will replace him. Trueno, who was Nicki’s boyfriend from 2020 to 2022, is known for his hard-hitting bars and for winning freestyle championships like Red Bull Batalla. The rapper is now part of the fest’s lineup for Mar. 1, alongside María Becerra and Alex Ortiz.

As of now, La Doble P deleted or archived all of his Instagram grid, including photos with his “Por las Noches” collaborator. This follows the former love birds’ alleged breakup rumors after Nicki saw him with another woman strolling hand-in-hand in Las Vegas, NV. “Respect is a necessary part of love. What is loved, is respected. What is respected, is cared for. When you are not cared for and when there is no respect… I will not stay there. I’m leaving,” she wrote on her social media at the time. The Mexican singer has yet to comment about his personal life.

Moreover, Peso announced his upcoming Éxodo Tour, which will take him to perform in arenas across the nation and festivals like Sueños and Coachella. He also recently released his newest collaboration “NO SON KLLE” with Santa Fe Klan and Duki.
