After the successful release of their third official album earlier this year (Karimba, on ESL Music), the Afro-Peruvian revivalists Novalima are coming back to tour the United States this summer. There’s also a new album of remixes in the works, no release date yet, but we can speculate that it will be out by the time they hit American stages.
Only one of those upcoming remixes leaked as a promo download, we don’t even know who the producer behind it is (Xakosa?), but damn it sounds good! If Novalima‘s latest work sounded too rootsy to you (it did to me) and left you hungry for more electronic dance beats, this will certainly satisfy that hunger and take you back to the early Novalima experiments with its classic Latin house feel.
No word about who else will be contributing on this remix collection yet, but just this one track is enough to get us all excited again. Also, make sure to catch Novalima live this summer when they visit your barrio.
