Peso Pluma is truly taking over. Yesterday (April 24), it was announced that he would be a musical guest at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Friday (April 28).

“Am I fulfilling my dreams? [It’s] more than that,” the Mexican singer-rapper wrote on Twitter. “I’m living a life I never even imagined. A Regional Mexican singer on Jimmy Fallon 💣 WAKE ME UP!”

Undoubtedly, the emerging artist’s meteoric rise has been a hot topic this month. From performing at Coachella for the first time to making historic moves on Billboard charts, Peso has been in media headlines all month long. Now, he’s taking a step further to expand his regional Mexican music on gringo national television.

Social media users are both pleasantly surprised and excited about the announcement. A Twitter user wrote, “Peso Pluma is scheduled for The Jimmy Fallon Show lmao, it’s insane how famous he became.” Another Twitter user echoed the same sentiment, “Peso Pluma with Jimmy Fallon. Wow, I didn’t expect it so fast. Neta that cabrón flew 🥺❤️.”

“Are you serious? The now super famous singer Peso Pluma will be on April 28th on the Jimmy Fallon Show, one of the most watched shows in the US. I repeat: Are you serious? 🤯🤯🤯🤯,” another Twitter user wrote.

Others are happy about his success, though they wish other regional Mexican trailblazers also received the same recognition. “I understand the Peso Pluma phenomenon, but getting to Coachella, the Latin Billboard, the Jimmy Fallon show in a month for a simple viral song?” a Twitter user wrote. “Que puto mal genio, Natanael, Junior or Favela are the ones who should be there, the ones who really shaped the genre.”

Regardless of who’s currently leading the genre to mainstream, what’s clear is that La Doble P’s not slowing down. Last week, he launched his own record label with his collaboration “Rosa Pastel.” The collaboration is with one of his first signees, Jasiel Nuñez.

What’s next for the corrido tumbado artist? Maybe a collaboration with DannyLux. However, we’ll tune in to Jimmy Fallon to hear all about his confirmed upcoming projects.
