Pura doble P, viejo! Peso Pluma is not only nominated for the 2023 MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards), but he’s also officially confirmed to perform. On Sept. 8, the network unveiled the Mexican skyrocketing artist as a performer, joining other Latine artists like Shakira, Karol G, and Anitta.

“🕷️ @PESOPLUMA IS MAKING HIS DEBUT #VMA PERFORMANCE! 🕷️,” the VMAs announced online. “It’s happening LIVE Tuesday at 8p on @mtv, don’t miss it!”

Though we don’t know exactly what Peso Pluma will perform, we know he has a long list of collaborations and solo tracks to choose from. His hits include his massive collaboration “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado, which helped put him on the map this year. The joint track was nominated this year for Best Latin. Another popular contestant could be “La Bebe – Remix” with Yng Lvcas, which was nominated for Song of the Summer. Moreover, he also has his recent collaboration with Karol G, “QLONA,” who will also be performing that same night.

Fans are excited about the news. Some are even emphasizing that he’s the only reason they’re tuning in on Tuesday (Sept. 12). A social media user wrote: “@_PesoPluma Will be the only reason for me to watch the #VMAs 🥷🖤.” Another social media user said: “I never watch the VMAs but apparently Peso pluma is confirmed to do live performances, so this year will be different.”

Besides the aforementioned Best New Latin and Song of the Summer categories, the “Ella Baila Sola” singer is also nominated under the category of Best New Artist, against artists like Ice Spice, Reneé Rapp, and PinkPantheress.

Other performers unveiled today (Sept. 8) include Nicki Minaj, Fall Out Boy, and Metro Boomin. The 2023 MTV VMAs will air live on MTV on Sept. 12. Fans can vote for their favorite artists here.
