Brray is back with another banger just in time for summer. On July 18, the Puerto Rican artist revealed “DECIDIRIDIRIDIR,” premiering exclusively on Remezcla. The result? An old-school reggaeton anthem with tongue-twisting lyricism.

Brray has been making a name for himself in el movimiento scene since 2016, especially with recent infectious breakthrough hits like “LOKERA” with Rauw Alejandro and Lyanno, “Corazón Roto” with Jhayco and Ryan Castro, and “Te Colaboro” with Feid.

With “DECIDIRIDIRIDIR,” he continues to share his love for reggaeton, but only this time, he goes one step back to channel the older generation of the genre. He wrote the catchy anthem alongside long-time collaborator Joyce Santana. It was produced by Culprit, who Brray describes as “one of the top Puerto Rican producers of the new generation.” He also credits Santana for writing the song’s first verse and chorus.

The song was originally influenced by Boricua artist Wiso G’s iconic early reggaeton style. “In Puerto Rico, we call this style marroneo, which is the genre and style that I typically like to create my songs in,” Brray shares with Remezcla over email. “In this arrangement, the melody remains constant to the choir. I decided to work on this song, because of the segment of when the song relaxes and slows down in tempo.” Moreover, Brray’s newest marroneo features the genre’s signature booming, sexy perreo beat and the high-pitched “DECIDIRIDIRIDIR” repetitions to echo Wiso G’s emblematic fast-paced lyricism, which made him one of the greats in the ‘90s.

The music video captures the artist enjoying his time in Monte Hatillo, Puerto Rico, while he raps about being the decision-maker of who gets to live or die. He shot the visuals in this distinctive area to show that he can go anywhere, be alone, and still remain loved by the people he crosses. However, it goes deeper than that for the artist. “In this song, I am making fun of several people in the genre, but that’s something we will talk about later,” he jokes and leaves us with a cliffhanger.

Up next, the Boricua hitmaker is scheduled to reveal the first guest artist on his highly-anticipated and upcoming album El Alma De La Fiesta which he hopes to drop in September. “In addition to that, I have many projects that are not necessarily me as an artist but instead as a composer and executive producer,” he shares.
