We all like to root for the underdog, especially when the underdogs happen to be our friends and we know, for a fact, that they rock.

Within the global bass scene, Gecko Jones and Uproot Andy are kings. They started out with their genre-defining monthly Qué Bajo?! party in New York and now they’re poised to launch their own record label. The label will soon make all those exclusive remixes they produce available to the rest of us mortals for the very first time.

Next Thursday, our remixing heroes will battle some of the biggest names in beat production out there (you know, people who rub elbows with artists like Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, etc) on the sound-system competition known as Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash 2013, taking place in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom. Five contenders go in, only one comes out a winner, and we all gotta be there to support Qué Bajo?!’s dynamic duo repping the Latinos. Check out Uproot Andy’s newest mixtape below and get a glimpse of what’s coming up from their label and what you’ll probably hear during the battle.
