It’s been months since Romeo Santos revealed that there would be a third installment of his Formula series: Formula Vol. 3. Now, we’re finally learning more about the project; more importantly, we have a date.

While performing a medley of his hit songs, including “Llévame Contigo” and “Propuesta Indecente,” for TODAY’s Citi Summer Concert Series, the artist revealed his intended date for the album. “My plan, my objective, is to release this on my son’s birthday… my firstborn, Alex. September 1,” he announced on stage. “It’s not for sure, but I’m doing my best. There’s a lot of hours trying to make sure we release that album.”

Santos also teased that there are artists he dreams of collaborating with but will keep the surprise factor on that.

This third installation comes after the mega-success of Formula Vol. 1 and Formula Vol. 2. Vol. 1 shot straight to the top of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Top Tropical Albums charts in the U.S. It also received three platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. Vol. 2 saw features by standout names in music, from Drake and Nicki Minaj to Marc Anthony and Carlos Santana, while also claiming the title of the best-selling Latin album of 2014.

Vol. 3 comes at a time in which bachata is becoming more mainstream, with newer names like Bad Bunny, Rosalia, and The Weeknd jumping on the genre recently. But Romeo Santos has been putting in the work for over two decades with his start as a bachatero in the widely-popular group Aventura — and he’s not surprised that Latine genres are going more global. He tells Rolling Stone in anticipation of his album, “We were always fly. We were always killing it. But now, everyone’s paying attention.”

Now, the countdown officially begins for Formula Vol. 3.
