Video Premiere: Sarazino – "Es mi momento" (+ free downloads)

With a background that touches about every corner of the map, we could only suspect that Sarazino‘s creative outburst would incorporate a hodgepodge of sonic influences. As the son of a late Algerian diplomat, raised in several west African countries, schooled in Montreal, and resident of Ecuador, Lamine Fellah (née) has adopted the more bohemian and nomadic route in music expressions. Similarly to Sergent Garcia, Sarazino’s music not only spans an array of sounds of Caribbean reggae, Algerian raï, and urban beats, his lyrics, however, celebrate of life and embed a sociopolitical awareness of world happs that take on the mantle of an urban messenger.

Sarazino’s upcoming album, Everday Salama (to be released May 22nd) is an enthnomusicological archive in itself, featuring a ton of riveting artists from many countries: Jamaica-based Rootz Underground, Peru’s Novalima, Brazil-based Luísa Maita, and a lot more. To hear I’m talking about, check out “El Fugitivo,” the intro-track and my personal fave, featuring Spain’s Amparo Sanchez. It’s pretty dope, and it’s a FREE download as well. Below, we also premier his video for “Es mi momento” ft. Nigeria’s Niyo Pumpin, which also comes with a free DL via Cumbancha. Enjoy!
