In a surprise release of the week, Puerto Rican producer Tainy drops his collaboration with R&B singer Miguel , titled “Sunbathe.” The producer masterfully blends his reggaeton beats with the R&B sound that Miguel is known for.
Miguel and Tainy wrote “Sunbathe” together with the latter handling the production duties. Even though the collaboration has elements of reggaeton, all the lyrics are in English. Miguel channels that carefree vibe of his last album, 2017’s War & Leisure, while singing lyrics filled with love.
“Sunbathing / Bathing in your waters / Naked, that’s temptation,” he sings. Miguel is enjoying his lover’s company so much that he lets an infectious laugh slip out near the end. Following the release of his hit “Un Día (One Day),” Tainy is finding his groove and success in pop music that’s in any language.
The bubbly “Sunbathe” is brought to life in the colorful music video. Miguel basks in the glow and refraction of lights. As always, he’s simply irresistible in this alluring visual.
“Sunbathe” isn’t Miguel’s first time dabbling in Latin music. In 2019, he released a Spanish-language EP of his War & Leisure album as Te Lo Dije. He also sang “Remember Me” with Mexican singer Natalia Lafourcade for Disney’s Coco soundtrack.
Tainy is currently nominated for a Grammy Award for “Un Día (One Day).” With Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Dua Lipa, they’re up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
