Rapper Tekashi69, known as 6ix9ine and born Daniel Hernandez, was hospitalized in Florida on Thursday due to an allegedly accidental overdose. The 24-year-old of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent apparently consumed too much caffeine, fueled by McDonald’s coffee. This caused his heart to race as he sweat uncontrollably which ultimately led to him going to the hospital. The artist also may have taken too many weight loss pills. He’s reportedly home now, recovering after the health scare.

Tekashi told The Shade Room in an exclusive interview that he took two Hydroxycut weight loss pills. The advised dosage is one pill a day. The controversial rapper is known for his Billboard-charting singles, rainbow-hued hair, full-body tattoos and being a notorious snitch. He claims to not have been using any other substances at the time of his hospitalization.

Should he have been using other drugs he may find himself back in prison for violating the terms of his probation. He had been using weight loss pills after gaining unwanted pounds after his release from prison. The face-tatted star previously served time for federal firearms and racketeering charges. In 2015, he was convicted of a sex crime involving a 13-year-old girl. He was 18 at the time.

Hernandez has stayed off of Instagram during his weight loss journey and says he’ll only return to the social media platform once he reaches his goal weight of 150 pounds. He is 5’5’’ and said he went from 200 to 177 pounds. A few weeks ago he broke an Instagram record during an IG Live that garnered over 2 million viewers. His absence has been noticeable since his second album TattleTales dropped. The LP debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.
