We’ve been on a huge Dominican kick lately, and Twin Shadow (née George Lewis Jr.) is only gonna keep that going. The Dominican-born indie/pop artist just released his second album of infectious ’80s-influenced pop/indie tunes, Confess, on 4AD Records.
The 10-track sequel to critically-acclaimed debut album Forget continues with Shadow’s bad-boy-of-pop persona. He sings about numerous lovers who love for all the wrong reasons…or don’t love at all. The waves of synths that coat each song add to the tension of tragic romance. This is Prince in the ’80s admitting he lied when he told you he loved you.
