We definitely love Abuela, the musical project of Ratatat’s Evan Mast and White Flight’s Justin Roelofs, born and bred on Peruvian soil. And we definitely loved their debut “Sapa.” So I should come up with a new word to describe how I feel about their second single, “True Colors.” How about fuve, which could stand for “fucking love?” Let’s go with that. I fuve “True Colors,” a big-beat, harrowing, emotional, spiritual, exciting track that makes me need Abuela’s debut album. Not want it, but need it. The video follows the familiar course of its predecessor, giving us beautiful shots of Peru and its locals.
