Since the release of the single “You’ve Never Been Alone,” it’s clear that Andrea Balency’s new stylistic direction has more in common with AlunaGeorge than with la chanson française. Now, coinciding with the release of her awaited EP Walls (2014, Bataille), she just presented the music video for the R&B track co-produced by James Blake collaborator Airhead.
On the tastefully NSFW video, French director Thibault Dumoulin shows the dynamics of some couples in a very intimate setting. The couples fight, make love, drink, and laugh, most of the time in the nude. The video is packed with beautiful people (except that naked old guy, he’s just creepy), while a fully-clothed Balency sings and play keyboards in a couple of scenes, which were probably very awkward to shoot. The video is stunning and connects perfectly with the song.
