In Calle 13‘s collaboration with WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange we got a call to arms and now with this video we’re given art as weapon. Filmed in Bethlehem and Beit Sahour, the video follows one kid enacting his own kind of political dissent (street art) connecting with another who forges his own (music). It also features Rage Against the Machine‘s Tom Morello and the voice of Palestinian singer Kamilya.
To get more Calle 13, check out his sit-down interview with Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman and Juan González, where he chats about the controversial murder of Macheteros leader Filiberto Ojeda Ríos at the hands of the FBI, police brutality in Puerto Rico, and the effects of neo-colonialism, among other things.
