Not to be confused with Kansas City rockers Making Movies, these are Tex-Mex cumbieros and they go by the name Como Las Movies. They approach cumbia from a perspective that mixes psychedelic rock with Mexican sonidero. In other words, they’re more interested in getting stoned than making you dance. And that’s totally valid in my book. Don’t be surprised if you hear them in the near future on the big screen, scoring the next mexploitation movie.
