“Babel” is the first single off El Columpio Asesino’s very excellent Ballenas Muertas en San Sebastián. Director Virgili Jubero—who also directed the group’s “Toro”—pits decked-out aging woman against decked-out aging woman in an epic tennis match. Well, slow mo makes anything look epic. The song’s frenetic, industrial movement complements the back-and-forthness of the ball and the video’s cuts. The tennis balls seems to be looming over both scenes but it’s up to you to make the connections.
