For our Costa Rican installment of Best & Brightest, Epicentro’s Roberto Montero Batalla highlighted some scene essentials for us. Among those was Florian Droids, “the next big breakout from Costa Rica,” according to Montero Batalla. The Cartago quartet just released Osos de Agua, their third full length exploring the psych-folk-pop realms. “Vos” is its lead single and video, whimsically directed by Neto Vilallobos. The track would fit into any Wes Anderson soundtrack, wearing Beatles/Monkees influences on its jangly sleeve, while the video follows a lone, awkward hero as he strives to make connections. The video alone should finally put Florian Droids on the international map.
