Video: Martin Thulin’s “Guns Down”

There’s a little sentence in white letters located on the upper left corner of Martin Thulin’s website that reads “Music Is Not For Everyone.” Well, he’s not kidding. His new single is definitely not for everyone.

Thulin, who also goes by the name of Menonita Rock as the frontman for Los Fancy Free, released a video for his track “Guns Down,” which, from the sounds of it, has less to do with guns and more to do with robots, LSD, and keyboards set to high frequencies.

The track is off his upcoming solo album I Rather Be Transparent Than A Shadow In The Dark. There are lots of electronics making loud noises and even the acoustic instruments are cranked up pretty high. Meanwhile, Thulin’s voice gets filtered through something that makes him sound like an alien with a hoarse throat. It’s a far cry from Los Fancy Free’s, uh, fancy-free tunes such as “Ja Ja Ja” or “Voltage Is OK!”

Check out the video below. And, while you’re at it, check out the video for his first single, “Glued To The Chair.”  It’s like a lost scene from a film by Crispin Glover.
