Finally! Monsieur Periné has figured out what to do with those dudes that seem to populate every city on the planet. You know, the guys who stand on milk crates and bend toward you, their bodies rigid, silver-painted hands extended ever and always toward you? Here they all are in the warm colors—and warmer notes—of Monsieur Periné‘s “La Ciudad.” The drums are smooth, the vocals are hopeful, the flute’s soulful and funny—in a good way. I put this song on repeat for about an hour, and I swear I’ll live ten years longer for it.
