So now, how do I get to Mexico? Gearing up for its 12th installment (it started in 1998), the ever-wonderful Vive Latino has released its roster for the 2011 edition, to be held April 8-10, and boy let me tell ya, it’s a doozie! South by Southwest might be shaping up, but Vive Latino being all, you know, Latino and whatnot, has a better chance of jam packing its stages with great artists. Case in point: Carla Morrison, Bomba Estereo, Andrea Balency Trio, Disco Ruido, She’s a Tease, La Mala Rodríguez, Banda de Turistas, Anita Tijoux, Bam Bam, The Pinker Tones, Torreblanca, and on and on and on.
They’ll be joining SXSW double dippers El Guincho, Chikita Violenta, Rey Pila, and Vicente Gayo, and seasoned festival hoppers Babasonicos, Jarabe de Palo, Enanitos Verdes, and Caifanes (?!). Note the site says Caifanes and NOT Jaguares. Hmm.
