Bad Bunny gave his fans plenty of nostalgia when he posted a video singing the RBD song “Sálvame” on July 23 to TikTok. The Puerto Rican superstar’s rendition of the iconic track even caught the attention of RBD’s Anahí, who shared her sweet response.
On the TikTok video, Bad Bunny posted it with the caption, “Hoy quiero beber.” In this brief acoustic performance of “Sálvame,” Benito sings his heart out, and he sounds great doing it. His voice soars as he captures the emotions of the song that Anahí originally sang while in RBD.
The fans went wild for Bad Bunny’s impromptu performance of “Sálvame.” He brought back all the nostalgia from RBD’s 2000s heyday. One fan wrote, “How many young Bad Bunny fans are gonna go listen to RBD Now after that TikTok? Bro got me in my teenage feels for no damn reason.” More fans were hoping this would lead to an RBD revival with Bad Bunny in the mix. A fan wrote, “I am screaming!!!!! While time will tell if we get another RBD revival, Anahí caught wind of Bad Bunny’s TikTok performance. The RBD singer posted a TikTok of her own showing support for Benito’s micro cover. In the video, the audio of Bad Bunny’s performance plays in the background as Anahí smiles and gives a thumbs up. In the video’s caption, she wrote, “Tu si sabes! Bad Bunny vamo pal mambo.”
This isn’t the first time this year that “Sálvame” has gone viral online. Last month, during her concert in Mexico City, Karol G brought out Anahí to sing the RBD ballad live. It was an emotional moment for both singers as they belted the song together in Arena CDMX.
It’s no secret that Bad Bunny is an RBD connoiseur. In his global smash hit “Me Porto Bonito” with Chencho Corleone, he sings, “Pa’ los 2000 escuchaba RBD y ahora quiere perreo.”
