Following his political-forward release “Una Velita,” Bad Bunny is officially back! After teasing new music, the Puerto Rican icon finally dropped his newest single “EL CLúB” today (Dec. 5). The result? A nostalgic track about his ex with house music and plena-inspired elements.
Speculations about Benito releasing new music started when he became active on social media. After expressing gratitude to his fans on Thanksgiving Day, the “MONACO” singer published an Instagram photo carousel showing his fans what he’s been up to, signaling his return. In the carousel, he featured a screenshot listening to Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound’s “Que Me Castigue Dios,” a photo promoting his footwear collaboration with Messi, a selfie featuring his ginger look for a movie role, and a selfie with Adam Sandler.
But perhaps the most captivating slide was the last photo, which shows a Christmas tree decorated with dominoes and a güiro with a sound clip attached. The audio features Benito singing “2 de la mañana en el club / Todo el mundo pasándola cabrón.” And in pure Bad Bunny fashion, he surprised fans with a voice message earlier today, confirming a last-minute music release treat to wrap up his 2024 (or at least the last one we know as of now).
The new song “EL CLúB,” produced by MAG, La Paciencia, and Spanish producer Saox, features traditional Afro-Puerto Rican guitar sounds often used in plena with an experimental emo-infused house soundscape. The music video, directed by STILLZ, features Benito entering an elevator with a fashionable fur coat on his way to a club. As he’s enjoying his time in the club, the video abruptly cuts to him in bed, thinking and singing about his ex. The BPM then changes as trippy frames appear – from classism critiques and distorted animals to Bad Bunny sitting on a bed in flames.

At the end of the music video, the letters “DTmF” appear, following “2025.” Is there a new album coming out next year?
Besides new music, Bad Bunny was named Spotify’s Most Streamed Latin Artist Globally for the fifth consecutive year. His collaboration with Feid “Perro Negro” also made Spotify’s Most Streamed Latin Songs Globally at No. 6.
