Becky G just released another post-break-up anthem. Following her collaboration with Peso Pluma on “Chanel,” the Mexican-American pop star released “La Nena” with Mexican singer-songwriter Gabito Ballesteros. “La Nena” is the second taste of her highly-anticipated and upcoming regional Mexican album.

The music video, directed by Santiago Lafee and creatively directed by Becky and Daniela Matos, follows Becky and Ballesteros in a strip club. The song narrates the aftermath of a breakup. In the corrido tumbado, Ballesteros sings about someone who wants to forget about an ex-lover who didn’t know how to value them and was with someone else. Becky continues the story and describes “La Nena” as someone who is now glowing, even though her heart’s crying, saying that she’s “mejor sola que mal acompañada [better alone than in bad company].” Though it’s unclear if she’s speaking about her own experiences, the video shows her in a jacket and a choker necklace that both read “LA NENA.”

During the music video, we also see both artists getting lap dances while their lyrics reassure the heartbroken protagonist that they’re going to find someone better. Becky is also seen in a sparkling, all-pink bodysuit as she sensually dances to the new single. Another frame shows the duo drinking shots and enjoying their time in the nightclub.

Though Becky’s remained private about her previous breakup with her then-fiancé Sebastián Lletget, she recently opened up about what she’s gone through this year. In a recent interview, she said: “This year has been a journey of great growth for me. I have faced difficult situations, but I have learned to handle them gracefully and not lose sight of who I am.”

She continued, “Love is a beautiful and complex journey, and each person’s story is unique. I believe that love has the power to heal and transform, but nothing is more important than the love you have for yourself and your family.”

Besides her upcoming album, the “MAMIII” singer will also embark on her first-ever headlining U.S. tour this fall. Her Su Casa, Mi Casa Tour will kick off on Sept. 14 in Boston, MA.
