Elyanna is expressing her Latine side. The Palestinean-Chilean artist sang in Spanish for the first time at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, Québec, Canada, on Aug. 4. The result? A mesmerizing rendition of English-born Spanish singer Jeanette’s “El Muchacho de Los Ojos Tristes.”

Elyanna’s cover of “El Muchacho de Los Ojos Tristes” echoes the original singer’s ethereal, echoey, and dreamy vocals. However, she makes it her own with an entrancing intro and her high-octave vocals, which she’s well known for. By doing this cover, she demonstrates more of her Latina side, which comes from her Chilean paternal grandmother. The cover was accompanied by pianist Leila Milki.
Fans are excited to hear the skyrocketing artist sing in Spanish. Up next, the popular singer is set to embark on her global WOLEDTO Tour after selling out her first U.S. tour at the beginning of 2024 and slaying her Lollapalooza 2024 set.
