The 2024 Latin Grammys left fans in shock. On Nov. 14, the 25th annual ceremony featured a salsa tribute, unexpectedly reuniting Puerto Rican stars Marc Anthony and La India – and fans can’t stop talking about it.
During this year’s ceremony, Marc Anthony produced a special salsa tribute under the musical direction of Sergio George with appearances by the likes of Grupo Niche, Tito Nieves, and Óscar de León. Perhaps the most unexpected surprise was when La India joined Marc Anthony to sing their hit “Vivir Lo Nuestro” at the end of the performance. “Vivir Lo Nuestro,” originally released in 1994, is one of the artists’ most popular collaborations. However, since its release, the artists have gone through a rough patch, which made this reunion even more special.
Social media users are excited about the live collaboration. An X user commented: “The best thing that happened to me today was finding out that Marc Anthony and India reconciled.” Another X user echoed the same sentiment: “marc anthony and la india competing for the last note at the latin grammys was not part of my 2024 bingo card but thank god.”
Longtime fans of both artists are also chiming in the conversation. An X user wrote: “To see and hear India and Marc Anthony on the same stage together singing vivir lo nuestro after almost 30 years wow! as a salsero and follower of both of their musical careers I was thrilled to see them together again.” Will they reunite again?
Besides the epic performance, Marc Anthony was nominated for two awards this year. Although he didn’t win either category, he was up for Tropical Best Salsa Album for his recent project Muevense and Best Short Form Music Video for “Ale Ale.”
The 2024 Latin Grammys are currently taking place in Miami, FL, and are being aired via Univision, Galavisión, and ViX.
