Even though Rosalía didn’t make it to Peru on her Motomami world tour, a version of her experimental show sure did. On Mar. 3, a YouTuber by the name of iOA—also known as Ioanis Patsias Morales—took the Internet by surprise by performing an entire show inspired by the  Motomami World Tour at the Anfiteatro del Parque de la Exposición in Lima, Peru.

“When I was a kid, I swear to you with all my heart, I used to replicate concerts in my closed room so no one could see me,” the YouTuber said during the show. “And I can’t believe that many years later, I am doing this in front of more than three thousand people[…] Without you, it wouldn’t be possible. I love you all!”

With social media being so quick to connect people, it’s not surprising that Rosalía caught wind of the performance. On one of iOA’s videos of him performing “BIZCOCHITO,” she commented: “😳dimension paralela desblokeada.” The Peruvian performer replied with an ecstatic video, celebrating her acknowledgment.

Rosalía wasn’t the only person who commented on the performance. Social media users are praising iOA’s tribute show. They’re even comparing live concert shots of the Spanish singer and the Latine content creator. A Twitter user wrote: “What an amazing event. A good tribute to Rosalía. At times you felt like you could see Rosalia herself on the screens. #mijishow ioa YOU DID IT!” Another Twitter user echoed the same sentiment: “By far the best tribute to @rosalia. The precision you have had with every detail of the Motomami Tour gave me goosebumps. Thanks for so much, Ioa and COME TO PERUUUUUUU ROSIII.”

Other social media users are looking ahead at the possibility of Rosalía going to Peru. A Twitter user  wrote: “If Rosalía comes to Peru, we all have to say: thank you iOA.” Another user said: “If ioa filled the amphitheater at the exposition park with her imitation of Motomami’s show. ROSALIA COULD FILL MUCH MORE OBVIOUSLY 🔥 BRING HER PLEAAAAAAAASE😭.”

According to iOA’s TikTok, it took him and his crew over four months of rehearsals to recreate the production. The tribute’s set list included songs like “BIZCOCHITO, “Con Altura,” “Linda,” and “CHICKEN TERIYAKI.”
