On Jan. 19, Rosalía took her admiration for global music to the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall-Winter 2023 Collection in Paris, France. The Spanish singer-songwriter played the Dominican rapper Angel Dior’s dembow banger “A I O,” as well as the Brazilian funk “Sento no Bico da Glock” by DJ Gabriel do Borel, Mc Lucy, and MC Rogêin in her live performance. She also performed hits from her albums MOTOMAMI, El Mal Querer, and Los Ángeles.
Rosalía’s performance starts by showing a baby aging to a man and then packing their favorite toys, instruments, and memories into a bag before exiting the door. She then comes out on top of a car singing “CANDY” while wearing oversized sweatpants and a puffer jacket combo paired with sunglasses. She continues the performance with remixes and snips of “SAOKO,” “DE AQUÍ NO SALES (Cap.4: Disputa),” “DESPECHÁ,” and “De Plata,” while the Louis Vuitton models show off the new collection on the runway.
During the snippet of “Sento no Bico da Glock,” the “HENTAI” singer is seen jumping on a bed. As far as Dior’s “A I O” feature goes, Rosalía is seen dancing in and out of the car, swaying her hair back and forth. She then closes the performance by singing “CUUUUuuuuuute.” Other artists played during her 23-minute performance include the Spanish singer Camarón de la Isla and the Lebanese producer Ahmad H Music.
On social media, fans are thrilled about her music selections. A Twitter user wrote: “Angel dior and Rosalia at the LV fashion show…I’m speechless.” Another Twitter user echoed the same sentiment: “FUNK CARIOCA, JERSEY CLUB AND ANGEL DIOR AT THE LV FASHION SHOW THANKS ROSALIA.”
It’s a huge moment for Dominican dembow and Brazilian funk, as both diverse genres are receiving global recognition. Angel Dior was a special guest at Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour in the Dominican Republic, while Brazilian superstar Anitta frequently takes Brazilian funk to huge stages like her Coachella set and award shows.
