The most recent stop of Rosalía’s global tour had a star-studded audience. Among the 15,000 fans that piled into the WiZink Center in Madrid on July 19 were actor Pedro Pascal and director Pedro Almodovar.

The 45-stop tour in support of the Grammy-winning singer’s MOTOMAMI album kicked off in early July in Almería, Spain. The production will make its way through 15 countries before wrapping in France in Dec. of this year.

MOTOMAMI, Rosalía’s third studio album, debuted at No. 1 on the Spotify Global Charts and was the highest charting Billboard debut for any Latin album in 2022.

Other stars in the audience were Rosalia’s boyfriend, Rauw Alejandro, Georgina Rodriguez (model and partner of Cristiano Ronaldo), Spanish TV personality Belen Esteban, and Spanish actors Arturo Valls and Rossy de Palma.

Pascal has signed on to star in Almovodar’s next film, Extraña forma de vida (Strange Way of Life), a half-hour Western also featuring Ethan Hawke. According to a Variety article, Strange Way of Life follows a man named Silva looking to reconnect with a Sheriff, played by Hawke, 25 years after the pair worked together as hired gunmen. Almodovar, known for putting an exuberant, irreverent twist on stories, says the film is his answer to Brokeback Mountain.

This would be the prolific and ambitious Spanish director’s 41st film. His 2021 release, Parallel Mothers starring Penelope Cruz, was nominated for two Academy Awards. It will also be the first time that Pascal has worked with the director. The Chilean-American actor first gained prominence through his roles in Game of Thrones, Narcos, and the title role in The Mandalorian.

The team began to prepare for shooting the film in early July in Southern Spain, as well as the ranch where director Sergio Leone filmed the Dollars trilogy with Western icon Clint Eastwood. Maybe the Pedros were taking a much-needed break to blow off steam with the MOTOMAMI?
