YouTube’s Foundry Class of 2026 Has a Standout: FLVCKKA

As most music fans know, regional mexicano is having a global moment. Now, YouTube is offering a glimpse of where the movement may be headed by spotlighting one artist.

YouTube’s Foundry has supported more than 250 independent artists since launching in 2015, and the platform has announced its class of 2026. Among the names on the international roster, one stands out: FLVCKKA.

Hailing from Chihuahua, FLVCKKA made their mark after moving to Mexico City. Describing their style as “hypercorridos” and “neobuchonismo,” the artist blends trap, drill, corridos, and hyperpop into a distinctive sound. The approach has helped them build an impressive fanbase among listeners and fellow artists alike, with features from Chino Pacas, Yeri Mua, Cachirula, Iza tkm, and Marcos Villalobos, among many others.

FLVCKKA’s sound isn’t just a fresh take on música mexicana—it also signals a broader shift in the genre. Corridos artists have been experimenting with dembow for a while, but more influences are now reshaping the genre’s DNA into something more modern and exciting. FLVCKKA is among the new artists tracking where the tide is going and helping shape the genre’s future instead of playing catch-up.

FLVCKKA joins a new batch of 16 independent musicians for the Foundry Class of 2026. In June, YouTube announced an initial selection of 24 artists, including Latine acts like Hamilton, Rainao, MC Luanna, Amanda Magalhaes, and Franco, The Sir! Also of note: the young Mexican throwback hip-hop duo KEVIS Y MAYYKI, Brazilian singer-songwriter José Jr., sister pop act Mariasss (also from Brazil), and Spanish afrobeats exponent Yapi.

Selected artists receive a grant, dedicated support from YouTube, access to the platform’s products, and marketing opportunities—along with chances to develop their careers both on and off the platform.

There’s no better time to get behind FLVCKKA, who is quickly becoming the face of regional mexicano’s future.
