Maluca Returns With New Dembow-Inspired Single “Trigger”

Maluca, the Dominican songstress who “came around our way from 182nd and Audubon just the other day” is back with a new hit single, “Trigger.” Featured first on The Fader, her new release is a sexy new slow jam that opens with a sample of El General’s ‘Tu Pum Pum” before leading into a mesmerizing mix of dembow beats and a house-inspired synth hook. Coupled with her party vibe meets dreamy nostalgia lyrics, this track is definitely an ode to the great nights we all had this past summer.

Maluca has been a fixture of New York’s nightlife scene and broke out as an artist with her collaborations with Diplo and Mad Decent. Since then, she’s moved on to do solo projects, collaborating with companies like Opening Ceremony and Becks. We recently featured her Instagram while she was at the Telfar Global Show for NYFW, and this past June she was the headliner for one of the biggest events of NYC Pride, Azucar Papi.
