Every time Abrigo de Pelos uploads a new track on his SoundCloud account, our Pavlovian reflex kicks in and we just get excited. His latest piece is a song called “Samurái Ciervo,” and it’s a beautiful deformation of hip-hop somehow inspired by Japanese warriors.

The Spanish producer displays his love for timbre and texture, filling the spectrum with contrasting sounds, from deep bass to ringing melodic synth lines and organic cymbals, and, of course, the stunning clattery mess that is present throughout the whole song. He also samples a speech in Japanese, which marks the moment when he picks up the pace and the track gets epic.
