Texas-based Alex Moreno, who makes beats simply as Alex M, has just released a wavy house single called “Silk” for a forthcoming Widad Records project, and the title could not be anymore fitting. The track’s smooth, feel-good vibes are immediate, but the song really hits its stride at the 1:35 mark, thanks to a killer, irresistibly danceable drop.
Widad Records, which calls France and Morocco its home, is an off-shoot of the B.YRSLF Division label curated by B.YRSLF founder Daryl Tawfik. It was “created … to share our love for underground electronic music on the Mediterranean shores,” according to its SoundCloud page. The word “widad” also means “love” in English, and if Alex M’s work is any indication of future releases, the good vibes will keep on rolling.
