Álvaro Díaz and Mike Towers Unleash Gritty Trap Monster “De To Nosotros”

As the hip-hop community in Puerto Rico continues to come into its own, two of its rising stars have teamed up to prove that there is strength in numbers. Álvaro Díaz and Mike Towers just dropped “De To Nosotros,” a declaration of la isla estrella’s intention to leave a mark on the game. Produced by Lv Civdvd’s resident beatmaker and frequent Díaz collaborator Young Martino, the sparse trap beat has just the right amount of grit and plenty of room for the two MCs to stretch out and show off their skills.

While this isn’t the first time Díaz and Towers have worked together (that would be 2014’s Fuete Billete-assisted “Ga$tar”), both rappers have reached new heights of success in the past year that make the collaboration that much more impactful. Making time to work with another speaks volumes to the community, and both MCs have had plenty of other projects on their respective plates, as well as their own collectives (Lv Civdvd and Young Kingz) to worry about. Towers has been riding high after a successful first SXSW trip and mixtape launch with El Final del Principio this past spring. Meanwhile, as Díaz preps his full-length Díaz Buenos, Díaz Malos, he’s been keeping himself busy with loosies and performances, including a set at the DR’s Bass Trapped this Saturday.
