Arca Takes His Mind-Warping Abstraction to the Next Level in the Video for “EN”

Arca‘s second full-length Mutant finally has a release date, and we won’t have to wait too long for it. The 20-track album is dropping November 20, once again through Mute, and features racy cover art that matches the album title perfectly, made by Jesse Kanda.

Along with the album details, Alejandro Ghersi also shared the music video for “EN,” and it pretty much follows the same vein of his previous video, “Soichiro.” Opposite to the music videos off Xen, he’s right in front of the cameras this time around, showing off his body, his moves, and his sexy wardrobe. The whole video is a low-angle shot of Ghersi dancing to the amorphous sounds of the song, warped and processed through a yellow filter, with the image going pitch-black from time to time in sync with the music. He wears a little number that should be familiar to everyone who’s seen him live or who follows his Instagram account. The song starts off reminiscent of Oneohtrix Point Never, but a clattery and confusing beat slowly creeps in and we know this is 100 percent Arca.
