Luckily, in the hands of the talented El Dusty and Mexico-to-LA production whiz Sumohair, it’s excellent. The alarming similarity in tone between the Norwegian and Texan female vocalists is incredible, and the comparison between trap-tinged moombahton and cumbia is now a well-worn EDM trope. It’s just more proof of how ahead of the game Selena’s sound was. If looking to shock your next Afro-Latino underground dance event with a surprising jam, this one is ideal.
