Exclusive Premiere: Get Rowdy With Piñata Protest’s Latest Video, “Vato Perron”

Last year, San Antonio-based Piñata Protest showed all of us (including YOU!) that the accordion can be one hell of a punk instrument. The Norteña-punk outfit’s nine-track album El Valiente was a refreshing spin on two old-school genres that was also a fun statement of bicultural Chicanidad.

The band ends its tour with the Reverend Horton Heat this Friday in their hometown. If you can’t make it out there, you’re in luck. The band just released a new video for “Vato Perron,” which highlights their antics in a live setting. The video, shot at Hi-Tones in their hometown, was shot by Jim Mendiola during the Spurs’ championship run hence the some of the jerseys. Watch the video in HD on a big-screen and stage-dive with Alvaro Del Norte. Smashing an accordion al estilo Joe Strummer is optional.
