On Sunday night, Mexican producer Faded shared a special treat called “I Luv This,” a track that actually samples August Alsina’s vocals from “I Luv This Shit.” He manages to blend wonderful elements of funk carioca with the hip-hop sound of the original, but the result is actually all about R&B romance. Gliding bass tones fatten the low-end spectrum, while the laid-back beat gets movement from the incessant tamborzinho that’s so characteristic of baile funk. It complements the fast trap hi-hats that appear and disappear throughout the track. Check out this sultry number above.
