Fuego and Sango Bless Us With Trapchata Heater “Se Me Nota” for the New Year

Fuego had a killer 2015, thanks to the strength of his Spanish remixes, but the singer is ready to make a statement with original material in the new year. His forthcoming Fireboy Forever 2 comes via a collaboration with Sango, one of our favorite producers, who laces the Dominican crooner with a trap-meets-bachata (dare we call it “trapchata?”) effort called “Se Me Nota.” Paying tribute to Joe Veras’ “Se Te Nota,” Fuego and Sango kick up the intensity a notch over a skittering instrumental. The bass line thumps, snares roll, and a bachata guitar riff bubbles just below the surface.

Fusing American hip-hop trends with the classic feel of bachata isn’t exactly a new phenomenon, as we noted in our collection of #FutureBachata hits in 2014. But the trend seems poised to gain even more traction in the coming year as the audiences for both styles become more intertwined.

Fireboy Forever 2 is also set to include lead single “Mambo Para Bailar,” released in October, and the track just received an official remix with added vocals from Arcangel. Listen below:
