Chilean psych rock continues its worldwide domination, this time thanks to the new The Holydrug Couple video for “Light or Night,” a cut from their stellar 2015 album Moonlust on Sacred Bones records.
The video looks like something straight out of the days when VHS camcorders were all the rage. Colors and flares are unnaturally bright, and everything seems to have a blurry outline. The collage of random footage gets even trippier when kaleidoscopic lights are superimposed over the images. Amid shots of hamburgers and puppies, the band rehearses their organ-driven slow jam in rainbow fuzz.
Surely, next year will be even better for The Holydrug Couple. They are starting 2016 by playing Festival En Orbita in Santiago, along with Os Mutantes, El Mató Un Policía Motorizado, The Sonics, Föllakzoid, and many others.
