20 year-old Spanish producer J Δ Y E E M just shared a short new track on his Soundcloud, titled “You Took My Love.” It’s a warm and sweet slice of future garage glory. Born J. Mohedano, the Madrid-based artist has created a skipping 2-step rhythm that is reminiscent of work we’ve heard from Burial or Jamie xx, but he’s covered it with a blanket of vinyl surface noise and crackles, giving it an intimate and personal touch. The track is also filled with pitched-up vocal samples, very characteristic of the genre and the producer’s work as a whole. Meanwhile, ripples of arpeggiated synths come and go. Before you know it, the track has ended. What a tease.
