“I’m really thankful for what I’ve got,” sings Metrika on his new single.

The musical alias of Diego Cevallos, Metrika is one of Mexico’s most prolific electronic producers. His early years were spent as a multi-instrumentalist and composer, building on his years spent playing drums and piano as a kid. He later got interested in electronic music and was one of the first local talents to draw interest from the prestigious MUTEK Festival. He then became one of the first Mexican artists to get billed on the Montreal edition, the original home of the digital arts event.

More recently, Metrika has become close friends with Damian Lazarus and emerged as the Latin American talent for Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels label. This relationship is said to have had a big influence on the creation of the Day Zero Festival, one of the most beautiful open air parties in Playa del Carmen. Now, Metrika is readying the release of his new Afterwards EP – just available this week – and ‘Thankful’ is the first single, which is perhaps one of the most straight-up pop and nostalgic pieces of his career.

Metrika will present the new Afterwards EP with a full band live act very soon at Mexico City’s Imperial Club and will also be present at Vive Latino‘s 2015 edition.
