Marineros’ “Torbellino” Video Is a Heartwarming Portrait of Human Connection

Chilean duo Marineros had a busy year after releasing their debut album O Marineros back in late 2015, one full of live shows and promotional commitments in their home country and beyond. Just a little over three months after announcing that they were taking a much-needed break on Facebook, Soledad Puentes and Constanza Espina are returning with a music video for their 2016 loosie “Torbellino.”

The track, produced by Cristián Heyne and Puentes, follows the line of their deliciously minimalistic oeuvre, where crystal-clear vocals and pristine guitar licks complement each other gorgeously. They celebrate grandiose pop with memorable melodies and timeless lyrics about finally realizing what you were feeling inside has been love all along.

Puentes also co-directed the visuals for “Torbellino,” alongside Soledad Aguila. The music video is a candid portrait of the duo’s friendship – in the clip, everyday activities like cooking, riding a bike, playing with cats or smoking a joint become endearing, slice-of-life glimpses into the bond they share. Let the warm fuzzies fly.
